About Lift Qi Up/Pour Qi Down
With Reyna Olea
Lift Qi Up, Pour Qi Down is one of the foundational practices of Zhineng Qigong — a complete movement meditation that unites heaven and earth through the language of Qi. Each motion opens the body and consciousness to the infinite flow of life itself.
Unlike purely internal meditations, this method awakens spacious awareness through expansive movement and subtle intention. Within its graceful flow, you’ll experience:
- Opening and Gathering — gently drawing universal Qi through the body, clearing stagnation and awakening vitality
- Integration and Flow — harmonizing inner and outer movement until the boundary between self and nature dissolves
- Stillness in Motion — discovering how tranquility emerges naturally through rhythm and repetition
This is a deeply nourishing practice — one that cultivates balance, clarity, and a renewed sense of connection to all of life. You’ll be guided to awaken not only the flow of energy through your body but also the awareness that moves it. And within that unfolding, you may discover something profound:
The awakening flow of life itself.
As Qi rises and returns, the heart opens. As the mind expands, stillness arises. In this harmony of heaven and earth, you reconnect with your natural state — whole, alive, and free.
We invite you to move, breathe, and awaken — fully present to the flow of life within and all around you.
Each session in this series is designed as a complete experience. There are no prerequisites — you may attend any session individually and receive the full benefit of the practices shared that day.
Rather than progressing through Lift Qi Up, Pour Qi Down in a strictly technical or sequential way, each session explores a different dimension of awareness and energetic flow of the practice. Each session offers a full immersion in Level 1 methods, including Regulating the Body Posture, Eight Verses Meditation, Chen Qi, La Qi, and more.
We begin in Session 1 with cultivating openness and connection to the external Qi field, move toward refining internal harmony (Session 2), and culminate in integrating body, mind, and consciousness into one unified field (Session 3).
Together, these sessions form a journey — from learning to sense and gather Qi, to embodying its movement through every cell, to resting in the natural intelligence that guides it. Each step reveals a deeper layer of the same living process:
Recordings will be available to all participants for 30 days after each session.
A video of Reyna demonstrating the entire Lift Qi Up/Pour Qi Down practice from beginning to end will be permanently available in the Video Library, exclusively available for Qi Team members.

A Checklist to determine
if this class is for you
Zhineng Qigong, created by Dr. Pang Ming, blends ancient Chinese healing wisdom with modern science. It integrates movement, meditation, and mindfulness to cultivate and refine Qi within the body. These practices are designed to improve energy flow, balance emotions, and promote a sense of inner unity and well-being.
Awakening to the Flow of Life
Lift Qi Up, Pour Qi Down is centered on awakening the body’s natural current of Qi and harmonizing it with the larger flow of life.
Through continuous, graceful movement and focused awareness, practitioners learn to gather Qi from the universe, guide it through the body, and return it to the center where balance and stillness arise.
It goes beyond introductory practices by:
- deepening the practitioner’s connection to the universal Qi field
- strengthening the vertical flow between Heaven and Earth
- refining sensitivity to internal movement and energetic transformation
The emphasis is on uniting awareness and flow — allowing Qi to circulate freely through every cell while the mind rests in calm alertness.
This level supports profound renewal, clarity, and the embodied experience of harmony with all of life.

Yes, and you aren’t alone! This is often considered a problem by people just starting out, but even though you cannot feel the Qi, it is moving and working. You can tell by how you feel emotionally. As your Qi becomes more activated, more balanced, you will experience feelings of joy, contentment, emotional stability, and relief.
No. People of all ability levels can participate. You must have access to a computer on the Internet and be able to login to the event.
Definitely yes! The focus of every aspect of this practice is inward — into the depths of who you really are. This is even true for elements that have a physical component. Individuals with a chronic illness, spinal injury, or other conditions which limit them from standing can visualize the practice while exploring the depths of the process within. We recommend that you advise the instructors of any limitations you have so that they can provide you with helpful guidance (anonymously, of course) during the sessions. Sometimes the lack of physical distraction provides a more profound experience.
